Grandmother's Lard Soap

Our base recipe is made from lard, lye, and water, just like Grandma’s soap—nothing more, nothing less. No additives, no perfumes, no essential oils, no fragrances, no dyes. And unlike commercial soaps, the natural glycerin hasn’t been removed, so it stays in to help moisturize your skin.

It was used for everything~washing clothes, dishes, and the body (head to toe). You can shower, shave, and shampoo with our soap every day. No, it won’t “take your hide off!”—as long as it’s made right. Some of our ancestors just used too much lye, making their soap harsh! Ours is carefully crafted with the perfect balance of lye to create a gentle, skin-friendly bar.

PURE N SIMPLE:
Just soap, nothing added. This is for the purists out there.

LAVENDER:
Dried Lavender flower buds are ground up and added to our Pure N Simple batch. The bar has speckles of flowers throughout.

ORANGE:
From the produce section, whole oranges are ground up and added to our Pure N Simple batch. You get the natural color, juice, oil and pulp. Sometimes even a seed!

PINE:
Dried pine needles from the forest are ground up and added to our Pure N Simple batch.

CINNAMON:
From the grocery store shelf, Cinnamon and Oatmeal are ground up and added to our Pure N Simple batch. The bar has a deep cinnamon color, and the comforting fragrance from the added cinnamon and oatmeal.

The bars are rectangular, approximately 5 ounces in weight. The bars are hand cut, and have not been “dressed”, the corners and edges are not rounded, they have not been polished.
